Best for those who…
want a warm, collaborative, creative counsellor who understands cultural identity, relationships, big emotions, and the challenges faced by youth and caregivers.
Hello! I’m glad you are here. My name is Tina, and I’m a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC). I am a first-generation Chinese immigrant, and my interest in counselling emerged from my own journey of adapting to a new environment, holding multiple cultural identities, and finding belonging at the intersection of cultures and generations. I primarily offer counselling in English and can incorporate Mandarin conversationally when it supports connection and understanding. My goal is to collaborate with you as we make sense of your story, build more fulfilling relationships with yourself and others, and learn practical tools to live more authentically.
I practise from an attachment-based, emotion-focused approach. I believe that how you learned to survive and connect early in life shaped your relationship with others and yourself today. I also firmly believe that change happens when you feel safe enough to be brave, supported enough to try something new, and understood enough to let go of what no longer serves you.
I’m passionate about supporting adolescents and their caregivers in strengthening their relationships. I work with teens navigating anxiety, low mood, big emotions, friendships, and self-esteem. I also support caregivers in learning practical ways to listen, communicate, set limits, and stay connected with their teen, even during difficult moments.
My therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, creative, and honest. I believe in the transformative power of feeling truly understood and in leaning into the discomfort that leads to meaningful growth. I often bring art, games, and movement into our work to help you connect with your emotions and experiences. When I’m not working, I find joy in exploring new recipes, staying active, and spending time with friends and family.
I work with youth, adults, caregivers, and couples, offering online sessions and in-person sessions at our Granville Street location. If you’ve been feeling anxious, stuck, or as though your emotions are too big to handle alone, counselling can be a space to pause, reflect, and make sense of what’s happening. I invite you to reach out—I’m here to support you.
