Sarah Susswein

RCC

I am passionate about maximizing enjoyment and life! I have had my share of suffering but with much work, I have learned to align myself with my values, accept the past, move forward with optimism and joy. As a counsellor, I want to pay it forward and help others experience what is possible.

My positive psychology approach to counselling is to focus on you – your strengths, your values, your present and future. Counselling is a safe space to cry, laugh, to be heard, and to reflect. Counselling is an opportunity to resolve and leave behind the past, envision the future, to create action plans, to pick up tools, to experiment, and to practice new behaviours and ways of thinking. You already have inherent strength and resilience. I will walk by your side and support you, so you can find your way and live life to the fullest.

In addition to working with adults, I am also experienced in working with teens. I am experienced in supporting teens with a variety of concerns, such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, suicide ideation, trauma, substance use, self-harm, and self-esteem issues. Furthermore, I’m trained in the Orton-Gillingham (OG) approach and in National Institute for Learning Development (NILD) educational therapy. Prior to my work in counselling, I worked with children in the remediation of learning disabilities.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. I look forward to connecting with you!
