About Nightingale

Nightingale is a coordinated private counselling clinic built for people who want more than insight — they want change that actually holds.

Since 2020, more than 4,500 adults in Vancouver have started counselling with us. Across thousands of sessions, we’ve learned something simple:

Most people already understand what’s going on.
The problem is turning that understanding into consistent, reliable change.

That’s what we’re designed to do.

How we’re different

Most private therapy is one counsellor working alone.

At Nightingale, your counsellor works inside a clinical team.

That means your care is:

  • reviewed
  • supported
  • adjusted as needed

So the work stays active — not something that makes sense in session but fades during the week.

We focus on:

  • clear problem definition (what’s actually getting in the way)
  • practical skill development (what changes behaviour day-to-day)
  • accountability and follow-through (so progress sticks)

What this looks like in practice

Clients come to Nightingale when:

  • they’ve tried to manage things on their own
  • they’re capable and motivated
  • but progress isn’t consistent

We don’t start with theory or a list of options.

We start with a clear answer:
-> who to see
-> and why

That’s what the Discovery Session is for.

A system built for results — and for counsellors

Nightingale is built around a simple idea:

supported counsellors do better work.

Instead of working in isolation, our clinicians:

  • collaborate
  • review cases
  • refine care plans together

This creates a level of consistency and quality that isn’t available in standard one-to-one private practice.

Trusted by clients — and across systems of care

We work with:

  • ICBC
  • Crime Victim Assistance Program
  • First Nations Health Authority
  • major insurers (Sun Life, Manulife, Pacific Blue Cross, Canada Life, and others)

And we teach and collaborate with institutions including:

  • Adler University
  • City University of Seattle
  • University of the Fraser Valley
